As a Chef in the restaurant industry for over 15 years I always relied more on my instincts then recipe books.  I believe that allowed me to gain a dimension for creating unique dishes.  Working in a constant changing and challenging environment pushed me to branch out and start studying graphic design in Toronto.  
Working as a junior graphic designer opened up a lot of creative opportunities.  Branding small businesses, social media management, creative writing for a magazine and designing everything from ads to logos on indie movies.  Now I plan to move forward into project planning and marketing coordination to really grow as a designer.  My approach on everything from cooking to design is simple to make people happy and feel good.
